In Interior Design, positive space is the space taken by your furniture and decor, on the floor or on your walls. Negative space, conversely, is the empty space around and in between those pieces of furnishing. And the word “empty” is important: we didn't say invisible! And because it is not invisible, it has, like everything else in your home, a big impact on how you feel in your living room or bedroom and how you experience them. So here's what you need to know about negative space and how to make the best of it. The optimal goal of designing a room is to make it feel in balance — the perfect amount of furniture, art and accessories so that it feels full, sophisticated and exciting. But not so full that it feels overwhelming or like the walls are closing in. Wanting to fill every wall and every corner with a design element so a space doesn't feel "blank" is a common design mistake.
Gray color tones are very stylish and popular neutral colors that bring depth and elegance into modern interior design. Yellow and blue color schemes work well with gray color and look charming in any room. Yellow and blue color combinations are a wonderful way to experiment with color design and create unique, stunning and glamorous mix of room colors. Golden colors and turquoise blue colors look especially expensive, chic and romantic. Turquoise blue color can create a stunning backdrop, furniture and decor accessories in golden colors, combined with beautiful lighting fixtures, add brightness, glamorous look and expensive feel to modern interior design, creating charming and gorgeous rooms.
Warm and cozy Living Room is one thing modern people want to have and get it. What's not to love about a room with comfortable furniture, a soothing palette, and a take notice focal point? This modern living room from Raven Inside Interior Design has them all. The sleek lines and no-frills approach to decorating is both modern and minimal, yet there's nothing cold or impersonal about it. The warm finishes and soft furnishings make this a great room for spending a cozy night in. Design-wise, we wanted a modern (or minimal) structure with a clean-faced gas fireplace. Since I wanted to flank the sides of the fireplace with real wood, it was import to get as authentic looking of a gas fireplace as possible. I fell in love with the Napoleon STARfire35 from a search. No heavy venting coming off the front, an all black option, realistic logs, and a remote. So we approached them to see if they'd be interested in partnering with us on this project. They circled yes.
