Playful Combinations in a Modern Living Room, Who says modern can't be fun? Cleary not the team from Michelle Lewis Interior Design, the masterminds behind this room. Abstract art, a unique light fixture, and an array of colors and finishes come together to create a space that looks great and doesn't take itself too seriously. The preference of modern colour schemes for the living room is most likely to associate with how the living room is used than to other requirements. For example, you can bring soft colour schemes if you want it more laid-back. Otherwise, if you desire it more strict, you can bring neutral colours like white or black. There are a lot of different opinions on color selection for your living-room, and everyone has a viewpoint about what colours look excellent and which ones do not. Modern colour trends are definitely a combination of old and new, and also the concept of utilization old colours in fresh ideas.
Since the before post, we had the fireplace installed and the drywall hung, taped, and plastered. We (I) did the priming and painting ourselves to save a little bit of money. Somehow the room grew in size even though we bumped out 21″ from the wall. I guess that's what happens when you draw the eye up and wide. Let's talk about storage for a second. Because we have a tiny 3-yr-old that has toys spilling out her nose. Someone asked why we went for non-functioning wood as opposed to cabinets below the benches. It's a really good question. This may sound crazy, but I didn't want to add anymore storage. Because when you have more storage, you fill it. And just a couple steps away, we have plenty of storage for her toys in the dining room (reveal coming soon). A couple steps more, and she can get to the rest in the office. There's one hidden spot of toys in the living room though. Underneath that side table is a basket of legos. That's it.
Avoid having fans directly above seating. Ceiling fans cool in the summer and improve air circulation for heat distribution in the winter, but rotating blades aren't psychologically comfortable to have spinning over your head. Even if they're securely anchored, many folks feel apprehensive sitting directly beneath them.Locating a ceiling fan central to the room but over a circulation space or even a coffee table, as shown here, is a better approach. Maximize greenery for better health. The decor in this room is gorgeous, but the fiddleleaf fig in the corner is what leaves a lasting impression. It's well-known that plants are good for our well-being, boosting our moods and cleaning the air. Not bad for a comparatively small investment that also adds a lot of natural beauty.
